Chief Carey Slauter began his career at White River Fire Department as
a cadet in 1984 while in high school and became a part time employee in
1987. In 2001, he was hired as a
career Shift Battalion Chief and later promoted to Chief of Operations in
2008. He is a certified Fire Officer
III, Instructor II/III, nationally certified Fire Suppression Safety Officer,
and a NREMT-Paramedic. Additionally,
Carey holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and has completed the
Serving as the Chief of Operations, Carey is responsible for
overseeing the daily operations of the fire department. His primary responsibilities include daily staffing
and deployment, SOG development, and serves as a liaison to the Department of
Homeland Security and Communications Center.
Carey also oversees the Special Operations, Apparatus and Equipment
Maintenance, and Quartermaster Divisions.
