Senior Staff Meeting

1. Chief Thacker gave an update on the hiring process. The list has been narrowed to ten finalists, who will be called back for a talk with Chief Tibbetts, who has reviewed all of their interviews which were recorded.

2. Chief Cassin presented the new employee hiring and separation worksheets. These are primarily for administrative staff use, as well as the Quartermaster.

3. Chief Thacker will be posting a calendar outside of the training room showing when the room is scheduled and for what group/reason.

4. Chief Brown requested that the FireHouse reporting discussion be tabled until the regular staff meeting, since it is primarily for them anyway.

5. Chief Cassin explained the status of the 2005 budget and certain outstanding capital projects, most of which will have to go to the district board for their approval because they are over the maximum dollar limit. One however does not and that is the plant screen at station 52. After discussion, it was agreed that we should move forward with this. All in favor. Captain Skipper will head this project.

6. Chief Tibbetts reported that he attended an I-69 information meeting.

7. Discussion on policies. The discipline policy has been tabled again until the next senior staff meeting. Policies approved at today’s meeting include: Conflict of Interest, Dress Code, Confidentiality, Disability and Drug Free Workplace.
