  1. Chief Engmark presented the proposed revisions to the shift trade and leave request forms.  Everyone agreed that this was a good idea.  The Battalion Chiefs will present this to their respective shifts.

  1. Chief Tibbetts stated that he has a problem with sending all of our apparatus to assist another agency.  Chief Slauter stated that he disagreed and wanted to send whatever was needed in order to keep our personnel safe.  After much discussion, Chief Tibbetts advised Chief Slauter to let everyone know that the hay barn fire in Bargersville was a special circumstance.

  1. Chief Cassin urged everyone to consider that it may be becoming time to start another part time hiring process.  Cadets Klinger and Mangus are ready to be moved up and Chief Thacker will take care of this.  Chief Tibbetts will be sending letters to Mullis, T. Wilson, Lee, and Myers.

  1. Chief Cassin reminded everyone that one of this year’s goals was to update the policy manual.  Please come prepared at the next senior staff meeting to discuss education leave and minimum staffing policies.

  1. Chief Tibbetts distributed a list of classes that the union proposed a person would be “detailed” to.  No copy was available for the minutes.  Chief Cassin will draft this into a policy and present it at the next senior staff meeting.

  1. Chief Tibbetts announced that there was too much unnecessary driving and this is not acceptable due to the rising fuel costs.  He distributed a memo which stated that he would be holding the Battalion Chiefs responsible for excessive driving.  No copy was available for the minutes.

  1. Chief Thacker announced that he has been receiving multiple complaints from station 51 personnel that they are feeling ill and having symptoms that include excessive coughing.  This is from all three shifts and not just one or two people.  Chief Brown will arrange for air quality checks to be performed at the station.

  1. No further new business and meeting adjourned at 1440.
