- Ray
Skipper was approved for leave until May 1, authority Chief Tibbetts. Kim was directed to send a certified letter
to Matt Myers to meet w/Chief Tibbetts asap to be released.
- Chief
Tibbetts will be meeting with Natalie Myer to release her from employment. Dr. Moffett says she is physically
incapable of functioning as a firefighter.
She has already been working hours.
- Lock
outs for cars and houses update.
Equipment on apparatus and releases on trucks.
- Military
leave update. Our current policy
was confusing and did not clearly define whether we pay them for their
time off. Chief Tibbetts contacted
JAG and they stated that we do not have to pay them. The policy now states that it only
applies to full time personnel and Chief Cassin stated that Chris Kindred
has been notified of this. Until
the policy could get changed, Chris was paid for his time. We need to request that the District
Board’s benefits committee review this as it applies to shift people – it
is currently written for 40 hour week people.
- 2005
hiring process update not available.
- Awards
Banquet discussion.
- Chief
Tibbetts has been meeting with Scott Alexander who is president of the
reserve division. New pay rates
have been worked out. They both have agreed
that Erin Hensley will not be brought over due to the multiple write ups
in his file. The new association
does not have officers. Scott will
only be a representative. That
position is appointed by Chief Tibbetts, who feels that the membership
should choose that position. The
part time personnel do not feel that they will get a fair hearing unless
they have a representative. Chief
Tibbetts is adamantly against paying them 9.50 to
start. He is also against paying
someone more for seniority, if you do start them all at 9.50. At a recent District meeting, they
agreed with paying everyone a starting wage, but not lowering anyone’s
rate. There’s
only about 5 people that will make more than the 9.50 proposed. Paramedic differential is .85. Chief Tibbetts feels that any raises
given should be tied into their evaluation. Everyone finally agreed to leave it
budgeted as is and that the five people in question will not be losing any
money, pursuant to the District’s direction at a previous meeting. Everyone also agreed that, unless there
is a state mandate, that there not be a representative or officers. We also need to determine if they need
to applications, criminal histories and if their discipline items stay in
their file.
- During
trainings at station 53, please make sure they do not destroy the yard.
- Hood
at station 53 should be hooked up on Tuesday.
- Rescue
back in service tomorrow.
- Chief
Slauter stated that we need to do another part time process. Everyone agreed.
- Chief
Slauter stated that we need to look at staffing issues. He will work with Chief Cassin on a
solution, which may include moving a float position.
- Dispatch
issue where Johnson
County did not
dispatch us only resulted in the dispatcher being suspended. Chief Tibbetts will be addressing this
with Sheriff McLaughlin.
- Whenever
the ambulance goes on a private run, we will not be generating a run
number.
Minutes submitted by Kim Clawson.
