- Meeting
called to order at 0814.
- Discussion
regarding staffing issues involving Mike Hoffman which were discussed at
the last senior staff meeting.
-
Mike stated that no one told him he was taking too much time
off.
-
Chief Tibbetts left the decision up to Chief Thacker. Chief Thacker opted to give Mike one more
chance.
-
Chief Tibbetts has received nothing in writing regarding Mike’s
alleged poor driving, and therefore can take no investigative or disciplinary
action.
-
Everyone agreed that this issued needs to be taken care of
immediately.
- Chief
Cassin will draft a policy to be presented at the next senior staff that
addresses part time personnel who work a shift and the amount of time off
they are allowed.
- Reminder
that all items discussed in senior staff meetings are to be kept
confidential and should not be discussed outside of this arena. “Leaks” are causing more problems within
the department.
- Chief
Young will be finalizing and posting the schedule for the school lunch
program this week.
- A
meeting was recently held with Joe Pitcher, Chief Tibbetts, Chief Cassin
and Chief Slauter regarding possible dissolution of the volunteer fire
corporation. No further
information available at this time.
- Chief
Cassin gave an update on the recent cost cutting workshop.
-
Develop house fund policy.
-
Purchase house staples out of the house fund.
-
Investigate possibility of contract requiring new hires to
repay incurred expenses if they leave the department within one year of being
hired. (Training, physicals,
vaccinations, etc.)
-
Reduce spontaneous charges.
- Chief
Tibbetts requested that off duty people NOT come in to teach training when
there is already a qualified person on duty to teach.
- Chief
Tibbetts stated that he based his decision regarding Paramedic students on
people he thought would be viable as potential full time employees for the
WRTFD. Also, current career
personnel were given a higher priority than current part time personnel.
- No
further business.
