Senior Staff Meeting Minutes November
14, 2001
Present: Chief Tibbetts, Chief Cassin, Chief Slauter, Chief
Brown, Chief Thacker, Lieutenant Settles, Lieutenant Wilson, Lieutenant
Alexander and Kim Clawson. Also
present: Casey Arkins.

Meeting called to order at 1428 hours.
- Reminder
that December planning retreat is scheduled for December 14th.
- Chief
Tibbetts will get with Chief Thacker to schedule physical agility testing
for our new career employees.
- Chief
Tibbetts announced the development of a new policy regarding take-home
vehicles. You will need to begin tracking your mileage
– personal mileage must be deducted on taxes.
- Staff
vehicles will be distributed as follows:
2001 (new) – Chief Cassin
2002 (new) – Chief Tibbetts

Slauter
Current Battalion 5 – Chief

Chiefs Slauter and Brown will be first on the next list to get new vehicles.
- A
memo has been posted regarding the responses of Chief Tibbetts and Chief
Brown. Please be sure to read
it. Even though Chief Brown will
not be automatically responding, if you get on a scene and need him, be sure
to call for him ASAP.
- Chief
Slauter is working on obtaining mutual aid agreement with Perry Township
FD.
- Nominations
for awards for the Awards Banquet, should be to Chief Tibbetts no later
than November 30.
- Discussion
on EMS reports not getting entered or completed. We have a policy that states reports are
to be completed prior to the end of the shift. Company officers need to make sure this
gets done!
- Chief
Slauter will re-post the seat belt policy.
- Discussion
on 800mhz radios.
- Lt.
Marsh is working on getting prices on cribbing for engine 53 and
replacement cribbing for engine 52.
- Lt.
Wilson requested a roof kit for aerial 52.
Denied by Chief Tibbetts.
- Lt.
Settles requested permission to begin painting work on Station 51. Approved by Chief Tibbetts.
- Lt.
Settles apologized for an incident which occurred during the recent trench
training and stated that it would not happen again.
- Lt.
Alexander will work on MCI training.
- Request
from those present to have Dispatch include the name of the subdivision
when dispatching us on a run. They
already do this for the sheriff deputies.
