White River Township Fire Protection District |
Senior Staff Meeting |
August 22, 2000 |
================================================================================= |
Present: Chiefs
Dutton, Tibbetts, and Cassin. Lieutenant
Thacker. Administrative Assistant
Kim Clawson.
- Overtime
is allowed only when we are at minimum staffing. No exceptions. If
someone on duty is in overtime, and someone else comes in and is available
to work, send the overtime person home.
- There
are points deducted on the personnel evaluation for written warnings for
excused absences, unexcused absences, and lates/tardies.
Unfortunately, written warnings do not always take place when they
should. Therefore, when
reviewing their FireHouse history, read entries as follows:
-
4 excused absences in any 6 month period as written warning;
-
2 unexcused absences in any 6 month period as written warning;
-
2 lates/tardies in any 6 month period as written warning.
Written warnings need to be
completed and placed in the employee’s file.
- Discussion
on lastnight’s chauffeur training taught by Mike Combs.
Problems ensued when Mike had a couple of problems in getting the
hands-on scenarios set up and officers (and firefighters) began picking on
him. Lt. Thacker is adamant
that officers support whoever is placed in charge of training.
He did review Mike’s lesson plan and everything was correct.
- Battalion
5 should respond on ALS runs when there is no Paramedic on Engine 51 and
when Rural Metro has an extended response time. In June they only made 63% of the runs within 8 minutes
and in May they only made 70% within 8 minutes.
- Chief
Dutton requested that all district employees begin attending all district
meetings.
