Present: Chief Dutton, Chief; Mike Tibbetts, Battalion Chief; Eric Brown, Battalion Chief; Joel Thacker, Lieutenant; Kim Clawson, Admin. Asst.
Emergency senior staff meeting called to order at 1000 hours regarding a letter Chief Dutton received from Sonny & Retta Taylor. In it, they stated their intent to discontinue Medic 51 effective 1/1/00. They want us to purchase supplies that are currently on station. However, Chief Dutton spoke with Sonny Taylor this morning. He believes this stems from the fact that they can no longer provide sufficient manpower to cover it. After their discussion, it was agreed that Medic 51 would remain here until 1/31/00, provided the Department can provide coverage for the empty January shifts. Lt. Thacker will work on this. We absolutely must have a new service in the station February 1st! Rural Metro is not our first option at this time because they do not bill Medicare/Medicaid.
