IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND, REMEMBER TO CONTACT YOUR LIEUTENANT IF
YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING ANYTHING THAT WAS DISCUSSED.
1. Budgeted 3% for merit raises in 1998. Copy of proposed evaluation form handed out. All agree with new set up. Need to define “average”, “above average”, and “below average” on instruction form.
2. Tanker 52 must be shifted in to and out of pump gear very slowly! Engine 51 (Smeal) needs to have the fan shroud welded and it can be done only at Stoops or Clark. Engine 52 (Freightliner) has a short in the wiring which causes marker lights and one headlight to go out occasionally. Arrangements for repairs are being made.
3. Met with FPDB. Operations part of contract is looking good. Still hung up on hiring/firing of personnel. FPDB was very reasonable with contract negotiations. Until finalization of property boundaries with neighbor, gifting of assets is on hold.
4. FPDB still owes us $49,870 which we will receive around the 27th. That will get us through January payroll. The following distribution will be 1/31/98 provided that the contract is signed.
5. Key storage box is in and will be mounted in E52 for storage of medic keys. E52 will be inspected 12/29 at 0900 hours. Tom Arkins and Joel Thacker will be present. Chief Dutton requested that Joel give Bruce Alexander a couple of Mega Codes before releasing him to work as a paramedic again.
6. Jeremy Pell will be heading a committee to organize a formal promotional process. Also on that committee is Travis Sichting. Jeremy will post a memo and get a couple of firefighters on the committee as well.
7. EMAS problems that Chief Dutton is addressing are: 1) run with kerosene in creek and 2) Greenwood FD apartment fire.
8. At the beginning of the year, training may be changed from what is currently scheduled to train on the new equipment coming in.
9. All officer vacancies have been filled, per policy manual.
10. Reminder to use appropriate radio traffic. NOT engine 52 is “on the street” or “okay on the run”.
11. If a vehicle is being used for errands and doesn’t have a full staff, don’t mark it in service on the radio and don’t respond it to runs. Notify battalion 5 via pager when a vehicle goes off station.
12. Jewelry policy will be posted and enforced on both male and female employees.

17. Mourer is using wrong policy for RIT team trainings. Carey will get him the appropriate one.
18. Mike Phillips needs to return the bar for Perry Twp’s engine and fix the downstairs sprinkler at station 51.
19. Jerrod Myer was approved on Wednesday’s meeting to move to compensated. However, after Thursday’s meeting, Jerrod will not be moving to compensated until Travis does a thorough personnel file check. If everything passes, he will then be promoted.
