NEW BUSINESS  (Minutes taken by J.Pell)

1.  Covered agenda items 1-6 and 10-11.

2.  Agenda item 7. -  Captain Wilson is to get information on chisels from Lt. Marsh.  C1 has instructed him to purchase what he needs to put one set of chisels in service.  This will be done either through supplementing our current set or purchasing a new one.

3.  Agenda item 8 - Not discussed due to Captain Wilson’s absence.

4.  Agenda item 9 -  Firefighter of the Quarter was awarded to Kevin Skipper AND Joe Marsh for their hard work and effort in April, May & June.  Good job guys & congratulations!!!

5.  Agenda item 12 - Battalions will no longer be required to meet 225 hours / quarter requirement to stay on the battalion list.  Instead they will need to meet their regular 72 hours / quarter but will be required to attend 2/3 of officer meetings per quarter.

6.  Commercial box alarms are the only boxes that are automatically assigned a mutual aid ladder company.  It is B5 discretion when to start a ladder on residential box alarms.

7.  Tanker 52 has been removed from all box alarms.  R52 will be running in it’s place.  This is being done to help reduce maintenance costs on the tanker.  T52 is still in service as a pumper/tanker and can be requested if needed.

8.  Station 52 may no longer take it’s own PI’s.  This privilege has been abused in the past and therefore has been revoked.  If you arrive on the scene of a PI and need additional personnel, company officer or B5 can start E52.

9.  Officer’s meetings are being moved to weekdays.  They will be held two consecutive days in order to include everyone.  Officers, battalions, and program coordinators should check their Juno accounts for a list of 1997 meeting dates.  If you don’t receive this, please let Kim know.

10.  Crosslays on both engines are going to be changed so they are both 200’.  Bumper lines will stay 150’.  The officers decided it would be better to have too much hose than not enough.

11.  Asst. Chief Pell will be getting with Kevin Skipper, Joe Weihe and Lt. Mourer to try to complete hours they need for first class fire school certification.  Asst. Chief Pell has already given Jim Meacham the opportunity to complete his hours, however to no avail.

12.   Capt. Wilson needs to re-do Joe Settles evaluation.  The first one was never turned in.

13.  Jim Taulman’s status on command tree will be changed to show him as a chauffeur.

14.  Capt. Wilson will be instructed to contact Jerrod Myer regarding driving problems while he is en route to station.

15.  See new command tree (attached) for changes.

16.  Bat5 SOG (630) and Company Officer SOG (631) are completed and will be in book soon.
