Blank agenda forms attached for June 25th meeting

 1.  Discussion on paying of on duty & off duty runs in Fire House software ie: junkyard fire and PI during Vans Archery fire.  Officers should see C-2 if unsure of how to put these in computer.

 2.  Bn 5 duties shall be finalized by Operations in form of SOG and utilized for Bn 5 training as well as reference for current B 5 personnel.

 3.  Bn 5 needs to be aware of where his personnel are.  Pick up personnel at hospital.  Have safety sector established. Record on F-2. Do time checks during incident.

 4.  Scheduling changes only by officer, if by FF acting as Bn notify chief officer. Make sure qualified personnel are filling slots. See Kim for updated command tree depicting both FF’s (blue) who can act as Bn and FF’s (red) who are not qualified to drive apparatus. Reminder all personnel coming on department after 1-1-97 must have Master Driver Operator or equivalent to drive WRTFD equipment.

 5. Bruce Alexander granted leave of absence due to extenuating circumstances.

Ed Watson will either become active or be terminated by 7-1-97.

 6. Bn 5 does not respond on mutual aid calls unless two or more WRTFD units are responding on the same incident or is called for to function as a command officer.

 7. Policy 118 (Observers/Students) has been amended to reflect a change in criteria to be able to ride as an observer, must have a chief officer’s approval, should be used for EMS and fire training only.

 8.    Bn 5 needs to make sure crews are presentable and stations, apparatus and equipment are clean and serviceable, this includes weekends and holidays.

 9.  Clarification on SOG 612, it does include mutual aid.  Personnel should be responding to assigned stations to place crews on apparatus left in quarters and not respond in POVs to incident.

10.  Although G-51 is not due on any box assignment, it may respond on working incidents. However, proper judgment should be exercised on its, or any other units response, thoughts on this  include checking with officer who may be on station, checking with fireground command before response and staying on station to direct mutual aid fill in companies, rather than just responding because it sounds like a “worker”.

11.  Disciplinary action must be warranted and immediate.  A thorough investigation of infraction should be conducted as soon as possible and results processed within an acceptable time frame.

12.  Officers should be aware of tasks assigned during planning session and their due dates.

13.  Operations Division has been asked to make updating SOG’s a priority.

14.  Missing or damaged equipment, either department or personal, must be documented via incident reports as soon as possible.

15.  WRT Fire District Board of Directors has committed “in theory” to assuming current and buying future infrastructure which includes stations and major apparatus. This places the staff vehicles, air compressor and plymovent system back in our area of concern.  One suggestion, from Rick Cooley, is to utilize T-51 as both air supply and rehab when the new rescue comes in.  This will receive serious consideration based on budget restrictions.

16.  C-3 will attempt through scheduling to insure that an officer is Bn 5.  There may be situations when FF’s assume hours as a Bn 5.  If this occurs and there is an officer at either station, the FF and the officer shall switch positions.  However, this department supports the ICS and should a FF be in charge of an incident, officers responding from home shall assume support positions unless requested by the FF/Bn 5 to take charge.

17.  Joe Pitcher has indicated that he has almost finished revising the Hiring Packet.  We are shooting for July 1 as a start date for the new process.   Reserve coordinators have complete responsibility, to include all training,  of the reserve platoon. The coordinators are to insure that personnel from their platoon that they recommend are completely prepared to assume the compensated role prior to their nomination.

18. C-1 revising 1998 budget to reflect commitment to personnel(full time fire marshal and two paramedics) and the deletion of both apparatus expenditure and reserve fund.

19.  Department personnel files do not leave station 51 for any reason.  Officers doing evaluations are reminded that normal material is kept on right and disciplinary material is on left.  Upon completion of evaluation the officer, in concert with the department secretary, is to remove and destroy disciplinary documents of a minor nature.  See C-1 if undecided what is major and what is minor.

20.  Vending is now handled by Casey Arkins under the direction of C-2 and C-3.  Derek Blice is in charge of housekeeping supplies and uniforms.  Carey Slauter takes care of personal protective equipment.

21.  Rick Cooley has resigned as Treasurer/Board of Director and his vacancy shall be filled Tuesday, June 3, 1997 by the remaining members of the board.
