  1. Chief Thacker gave an update on the hiring process.  The list has been narrowed to ten finalists, who will be called back for a talk with Chief Tibbetts, who has reviewed all of their interviews which were recorded.

  1. Chief Tibbetts reminded everyone of the recent comp time memo he sent out to all full time personnel.

  1. Chief Thacker will be posting a calendar outside of the training room showing when the room is scheduled and for what group/reason.

  1. Run reporting issues in FireHouse:

Ø      Please do not enter your own street names.  Use the pull down list.  We are having too many variations of the same street entered, which is not allowing us to access accurate data.

Ø      Do not use slang or unapproved abbreviations.

Ø      Remember to complete the NFIRS first.

Ø      Do your own reports.

Ø      Use 320 categories on EMS runs.

Ø      Officers are still responsible for making sure the reports get completed.

Chief Tibbetts will issue a memo on this.

  1. Lt. Hart gave an update on the monitors.

  1. Chief Tibbetts thanked Chief Brown, Captain Skipper and the crews who assisted with Fire Prevention Week.

  1. Thank you to Corey McGaha and Eric Funkhouser for setting up the electronics in the training room.

  1. Chief Thacker reminded everyone to do everything you can to prevent back injuries.

Ø      Watch lifting techniques.

Ø      Remind crews.

Ø      Take time to do it right.

Back injuries are very painful and often recur.

  1. Chief Tibbetts stated that he is part of the E911 committee through Johnson County.  He briefly discussed how some committee members become upset and may be quitting.  His goal is still to get a dedicated fire/EMS dispatcher.

  1. Chief Tibbetts reminded everyone to keep extraneous driving to a minimum.
