  1. Chief Tibbetts stated that there is to be no excessive driving due to the cost of fuel.  Call him or the Battalion Chief if you need something and stay in your districts as much as possible.  Staff vehicles are also to cut down on unnecessary driving.  Chief Tibbetts asked that everyone use the A/C sparingly.

  1. Chief Tibbetts reminded everyone that there are to be no POVs to exit station 53 out to Smith Valley Road.  No exceptions.

  1. Chief Tibbetts reminded everyone of the backing policy.

  1. Chief Tibbetts stated that that fires make up only 5% of our duties and EMS 70%.  Fire prevention, public education, etc. takes care of the rest.  Be courteous to people.  Give fire prevention all help you can.  Work together as a team.  Don’t be lax on runs and expect Rural Metro to do all the work.  This is unaccaptable.

  1. Chief Tibbetts thanked everyone for their condolences during his mother’s passing and will remember those who were present.

  1. Lt Hurrle addressed having our own fuel tanks again.   Nelson oil:  $1500 / 550 tank.  Diesel today 1.80/gallong and  gas 1.76/gallon.  The card system will cost another $ 7,000; otherwsie, pump control will need to be inside building.  If we buy the tank we will pay .10 less per gallon.

  1. Lt. Hart stated that he will be submitting a proposal to purchase 3 additional AED’s in case our medic rides in.

  1. Lt. Hart discussed using “Medic Assist” on reports.  This is being done entireley too much, and in instances where he knows the crew had patient care.  If you had patient care, document it!

  1. Ladder 53 is still at the manufacturer being repaired.  Several complaints have arisen regarding the scheduling of this work and why it is out at the shop just ‘sitting there’.  We followed the recommendations of the manufacturer in scheduling.  We have no control over it once they have the truck.

  1. No other new business.
