  1. Meeting called to order at 10:08 a.m.

  1. Ken Grady, one of the new part time hires, has resigned.

  1. Chief Tibbetts has called Dudley Senefeld to find out why the building committee hasn’t received the plans for the station 52 remodel.

  1. Chief Slauter brought forward a request from firefighter Ryan Cox to add more 3” hose to the trucks.  Chief Slauter has no problem with this but wants to make the engines the same.  Everyone agrees and Chief Slauter will follow up on the addition of the 3” hose.

  1. Discussion on extrication supplies.  Request for adding step cribbing, glass masters, and rescue blankets (Kevlar/poly fiber – not aluminum) on E52 & E53.  Everyone agreed and Chief Slauter will follow up on this.

  1. Lt. Wilson requested a thermal camera for engine 52.  Chief Cassin stated there is little money in our capital outlays budget for this year.  Some of the capital projects have not been started yet so we are not sure exactly how much each will cost at this time.   He suggested waiting until closer to the end of the year to see how the budget falls and if there is any money left over, it might be able to be used for a camera.

  1. Strawberry Festival wrap up meeting held lastnight.  We believe we netted approximately $2300.  That money will probably be put towards capital equipment for the festival.

  1. Chief Cassin absent for remainder of meeting.

  1. Chief Slauter asked that you please complete evaluations asap.

  1. Discussion on possibly moving Erin Hensley to station 53.  Lieutenants Settles and Engmark will discuss this and let Chief Slauter know.

  1. Lt. Settles has been researching tension buttress systems.  No one expressed a preference of one brand over another.  Lt. Settles will pursue this further next week at Firehouse Expo.

  1. Turnout gear was approved at the last District board meeting.  Congratulations to Ryan Cox for the hard work on this project.  Please be present at the 7/21 union meeting to get fitted.

  1. EMS division updates.
    1. EMS protocols will be changing August or September.  Anyone having suggestions please contact Lt. Hart.
    2. This month’s audit & reviews will include pig tracheotomies.
    3. Lt. Hart is researching the purchase of new EMS boxes, new traction splints and new PEDs boards.
    4. Please review run reports that our new hires enter in the computer to make sure they are done correctly.
    5. Lt. Wilson is now working in the EMS division and is helping Lt. Hart with reviewing run reports.

  1. Building issue updates given by Lt. Smith.
    1. New cove molding for station 53 should be here tomorrow.
    2. Plumbing work at station 52 is starting next week.
    3. Deck quote for station 53 should be available this week.
    4. Quote for repairing windows at station 52 has not been appvoed.
    5. Windows & door has been installed at station 53.
    6. Combs is obtaining a quote on updating the speaker system at station 52.

  1. Saulsbury is moving their operations to Florida this year.  Rod Hayes has promised us that this will not affect our truck as it is being made in New York.

  1. Upcoming PR events are in FireHouse.  Lt. Skipper will be emailing the battalion chiefs with the upcoming dates.  Fair parade is 7/17.  They are looking for EMTs and Paramedics to work standby.  If you’re interested, please see Tony Slusher.   Lt. Hart reminded everyone that if you work down there, you are still working under our protocols.

  1. SWAT medic program is officially dissolved and the personnel involved have been notified.  There are still questions regarding the bike team events and EMS standby at the schools.  Lt. Arkins will follow up with Wishard to see if there are any other options to keep the bike team in service.  Chief Tibbetts will also research our options.

  1. Chief Tibbetts urged everyone to continue being careful on the streets.

  1. Chief Tibbetts also stated that if he has his door closed that it’s closed for a reason.  He is working on  business related issues that are confidential.
