  1. Master keys and usage.

-  You should go with them and open the door, not just give them your keys.

Unfortunately, you may not always have time for this.

-  Know who is borrowing your keys and what they are doing.

            -  Cores at station 53 and 52 will be changed.  Station 51 will wait until the new

                building is constructed.

  1. EMS inspection.

-         Engine 53 inspected by State EMS commission.

-         Expired drugs were found on the truck after it was inspected.

-         Drugs were removed before the inspection and we did pass the inspection.

-         Expired drugs that were found on the truck were determined to have been removed from the training library.

-         There is no way that those drugs could have been put on the truck by accident.

-         Lt. Hart asks that if anyone knows any information regarding this to please let him know.

-         This is a criminal act (tampering) and the violator(s) will be terminated and prosecuted.

-         Chief Cassin asks that if any equipment is found to be tampered with again, to stop what you are doing immediately.  A detective can be brought in, fingerprints can be matched and a polygraph test can be issued.

  1. Chief Thacker states that the training library door needs to remain locked at all times.

  1. 3 appeals were approved, 1 appeal was denied, and 1 appeal was left undecided because they wanted to see how the legislation was going to handle something.  However, we did just receive that appeal for $30,000.  Deadline has passed for them to change their mind on the growth appeal, which increased our maximum tax levy.

  1. Chief Thacker is meeting with Chuck Valentine to discuss the Bluff Road house.  We are receiving 30 FDIC passes, full conference with the exception of HOT days.  Chuck needs logistics volunteers.  See Chief Thacker if interested.  Also, if you are interested in participating in the HOT exercises, you’ll need to pay for them yourself.  Again, see Chief Thacker.

  1. Still need personnel to assist with the hiring process.  Starting Monday, need two people at HQ 0800-1600 to hand out apps, hand out CPAT workouts, and play the video.  Help is still needed with the interviews and will be around the first of June.  Need help with the CPAT practice sessions and testing sessions as well.  IFD personnel are running the CPAT, but we need to have personnel there to answer any questions that arise regarding the process.

  1. Training is being done outside of regular training days.  That’s great!  However, some simple topics can be covered on station without gathering all three stations together.  Response times are suffering.  In depth trainings, such as ice rescue, etc. should be done with all stations present.

  1. Transportability study.  All Lieutenants getting CPAT questionnaire.  Please complete immediately.

  1. MECA pagers with each station officer to allow for a head start on mutual aid runs.

  1. Please note new response districts in the MECA CAD.  Look on station 53’s map for further clarification.

  1. Engine 662 and 664 functioning as an automatic RIT team for us.

  1. Overtime availability on the C-shift.  Please sign up if you’re free.

  1. Protective clothing inspection form distributed for discussion.  These should be completed by the company officers and returned to Chief Young by the first week of March.  Please take your time and be thorough.  This is proactive and will be used to determine replacement factor for future fire gear purchases.  Each gear inspection should take 20-30 minutes.  If something is less than a 5, please explain why in the comments section.

  1. Watch for sign up sheet for polo shirts.  Policy will be adjusted to require these on duty.

  1. Tactical chassis ordered and pre-build meeting concluded.

  1. Engine 51 pre paint inspection at beginning of March.  Should be another 6 weeks after that before we take delivery.

  1. New AEDs arrived yesterday, three weeks early.  Lt. Hart will be getting the trainers put together and will probably be used during next week’s training.  Chief Cassin suggested that Lt. Engmark notify the news agencies of this.

  1. Lt. Hart stated that he should have the BLS bags put together for the staff vehicles, grass rig and tactical soon.

  1. Community Church of Greenwood and Mt. Pleasant Church bought Zoll’s just like ours.  We just need to plug ours in to the pads.  The schools purchased fully automated AEDs.

  1. Open burning law is changing soon.  Cemeteries are being exempted and the code site is changing.

  1. Devonshire is beginning leasing March 1st.  Please become familiar with the configuration of this complex.  Aerial 53 drive throughs are strongly suggested.

  1. Chief Young commended Lt. Alford and everyone who helped with the training barn at station 51.  It has proved itself very useful.
