  1. Meeting called to order at 10:35.  Chief Cassin apologized for the late start to the meeting but did explain that Senior Staff ran longer than anticipated.   He reminded everyone that meetings are now mandatory and Chief Tibbetts will be speaking with Lt. Alford regarding his absence today.

  1. Detailed information is needed in the daily FireHouse logs…not just who worked that day.

  1. Reminder that Nextels are being provided for your used by the fire department and should be on Monday through Friday, 0800-1700.

  1. Special operations issues:
    1. Lt. Settles gave an update on the placement of strobes on the PFDs.
    2. Rope rescue will be starting soon.
    3. A trench training class will be beginning in November.

  1. Lt. Settles inquired whether the talk arounds could be reprogrammed on the radios.  Chief Slauter stated that we would have to pay any costs involved and agreed to check into it.

  1. EMS issues:
    1. All responses are to be emergent from now on.  If requested, you may shut down “early” but no run is to be non-emergent.
    2. Narcotic SOG is in effect and will be available for viewing on the internet.
    3. Reminder that if there is no medic on duty, the house officer must sign for the narcotics.  Actually take them out and look at them and do your count.  Don’t just take the word of the last person on the sheet.
    4. Anyone caught “holding off” on responding on a run so that the ambulance will “beat” them in will be dealt with severely.  EVERY run is treated as a priority and will now be given a narrative, in both the EMS report and the NFIRS.  Any questions, contact Chief Cassin.  (There will be no more “medic assists”.)
    5. Check off SOG is coming and will be the responsibility of the house officer to ensure it is being completed.

  1. Reminder that the fire prevention talk outline is on the server and in binders at all three stations.

  1. Lt. Skipper stated that the White River Township Rotary Club has invited us to participate in their weekly breakfasts.  Chief Thacker will be attending.

  1. Kim reminded everyone to please write in your “beginning” hours on your time sheet.

  1. Kim also reminded everyone that she will be out next week and unavailable due to surgery.

  1. Chief Thacker is working on obtaining more training houses.

  1. Please be aware of the new construction sites in our district and become familiar with them.

  1. Chief Thacker stated that the IAFF has Christmas cards and calendars available for purchase, with the proceeds going to the burn foundation.

  1. The November 6th meeting at the library is open to off duty career personnel.  Please wear your dress uniform and remain silent as this is an extremely important meeting with local leaders in our community.  No snickering or comments during the presentation.

  1. Please place all maintenance issues in FireHouse immediately.

  1. The maintenance division is still working on getting the seat belt in rescue 51 replaced.
