- Congratulations to
WRTFD Olympics teams for placing 1st and 3rd!
- There are to be no
shorts worn, whether EMS shorts or WRTFD
shorts, off station. Wear duty
pants or bunker pants. Do not wear
bunker pants into a business, especially a restaurant, unless you are on a
run. This is part of the
professional image we need to be maintaining when in the public!
- Lt Rowland has
scheduled a Pancake Breakfast on September 14, 0700-1200. This will be a fundraiser for the
Campaign Christmas for local underprivileged children. He requested, and was granted,
permission for conducting a raffle for an 8 hour ride out with the on duty
Battalion Chief. Chief Tibbetts
emphasized that the winner(s) be over 18 years old.
- Chief Tibbetts will be
speaking with Lt. Rowland regarding his plans for this year’s MDA Drive. Anyone having any suggestions,
please see Chief Tibbetts asap.
- Eight new people were
hired July 1.
- August schedule is out
and there are few open shifts.
- Radios will be
switching to MECA until a tower can be built/obtained for northern Johnson County.
- Awards Banquet is
February 1, 2003.
- Chief Tibbetts has
decided to do away with the Employee of the Quarter program. He has received no nominations for
anyone this year and no longer wants to hear the complaint that “the same
people always get it”.
- Chief Tibbetts
emphasized the importance of the new accountability system. Get the questionnaires completed and
returned to Lt. Arkins ASAP.
- Accountability tags
need to stay with your gear at all times.
- Greg Maxwell inquired
on the pay incentive that has been proposed by the Corporation Board. Chief Tibbetts directed questions on
this to Tony Slusher.
- Chief Tibbetts
commended everyone who was on the Perry Fire a couple of nights ago. Good job by all!
- Don announced that the
new safety glasses are in and will be given out by the Health & Safety
Committee soon. If these are lost,
damaged or destroyed when not at a White River
incident, it will be the responsibility of the employee to replace them.
- Don also announced that
there is a Board vacancy and for anyone interested in filling that vacancy
to please notify the Board of Directors by August 9th. He has posted a memo on this.
- Chief Cassin stated
that he is working on getting the cable channels back into the fire
stations, but the person he needs to speak with about this is on vacation
for another week.
- Chief Cassin announced
that we finally have the equivalent of an inter-local agreement with Johnson County for their mapping data so
that we can begin using our new software and updating / making our own
maps. Anyone interested in
attending training sessions on this software, please let Scott know asap.
