Meeting called to order at 1130 hours at Arch Rivals
Steakhouse. Present:
Mike Dutton, Scott Alexander, Kevin Skipper, Scott Cassin, Nick Alford,
Casey Arkins, Eric Brown, Jeff Wilson, Bruce Alexander, Jim Taulman, Mike
Tibbetts, Joel Thacker and Kim Clawson.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING ANYTHING THAT WAS DISCUSSED.
- Personnel
responding to an incident, where WRTFD personnel are not yet on the scene,
shall continue either emergent or non-emergent depending on information
given by dispatch, in order to evaluate the situation.
- Personnel
shall not leave any station for training, PR functions, etc. until the
public viewing areas are presentable.
- Chief
Dutton asked the Chief Brown and Lieutenant Thacker work together on the
water supply issue in getting our ISO rating from a 9 to an 8.
- Battalions
are not to amend any dispatch protocols without appropriate reason (ie:
apparatus out of service, out of district, etc.).
If we wish to change apparatus responses in inclement weather,
contact Chief Tibbetts asap.
- Chiefs
Dutton and Tibbetts will be working on officer station assignments in
preparation for station 53. Dutton,
Cassin, Tibbetts, Brown and Thacker will be at station 53.
Bruce will stay at station 52 and Settles will be placed at station
51. If you have a preference
for where you wish to work, please contact Chief Dutton asap.
- Chief
Tibbetts is reviewing the automatic and mutual aid SOGs. See him with thoughts or ideas.
- Effective
January 1, we will no longer be submitting claims for personal equipment
left on station. We will
replace stolen gear items. Chief
Dutton will issue a memo on this.
- Chief
Dutton gave an update on current repairs to stations.
- If
you have a recommendation for station layouts after we have moved into
station 53, contact either Lt. Alford (for station 51) or Lt. Skipper (for
station 52).
- Chief
Dutton requested that officers submit their 2001 Wish List. At the top of that list will be a 12 lead EKG, monitor
nozzle and Phoenix tools.
- Personnel:
Doug Lady has been released and Tony Rizzi has been promoted to
compensated, unit number 37.
- Lt.
Alford will be conducting another hiring process after the first of the
year. Please get your ideas to
him PRIOR to the start of that process.
- Lt.
Alford stated that station 51 should not be used as a storage area for our
personnel. He asked help from
the officers in enforcing this.
- Reminder
to battalions that it is their decision as to the replacement of personnel
on the fireground, either for shift changes or for other appropriate times.
- Chief
Dutton stated that 2001’s budget will be extremely tight. We will be applying for various grants throughout the
year.
- Chief
Brown gave an update for Station 53. We
now have a new site foreman, John Poe.
- Chief
Dutton is still working on getting our maximum levy increased. As soon as he has appropriate figures from Eric Reedy,
he will proceed with contacting Senator Borst. The last day to introduce a bill into the session is
January 22.
- Nominations
for Firefighter of the Quarter for the 4th quarter in 2000 should
be made to Chief Dutton no later than 12/31.
- When
an apparatus leaves a scene, it is in service unless there are mechanical
problems. No exceptions.
- Chief
Dutton asked that each station officer review and create a list of
“staple” items.
- Lt.
Skipper asked that the upstairs at station 52 remain locked at all times.
- Chief
Cassin has been given the responsibility of issuing keys for the new
station.
- Chief
Tibbetts will be creating an SOG stating that a hose line will be pulled at
any structure fire.
- Lt.
Arkins wanted to recognize cadet firefighter Jason Coffey for his hard work
on the scene of the Los Tapatios fire with Greenwood.
- Megan
Stoops has been directed to consult her doctor at her expense regarding
problems she encounters when wearing an air pack.
She is completely restricted from duty until she gets cleared from
her physician.
- Chief
Tibbetts wanted to recognize Auxiliary members Marian Hart, Joy Harvey and
Kim Clawson for attending the Los Tapatios fire.
- Lieutenant
Thacker announced that if anyone wanted to participate in the NFPA
Driver/Operator course being offered by C9, to contact him asap.
