- Chief
Tibbetts will be meeting with Steve Swails Thursday and will have more
information about engine 53 then.
- We
are approximately 50,000 over budget at this time, which effectively deletes
the contingency. Chief Brown is
doing a great job so far in staying on top of the architect to monitor their
progress/changes.
- A
local day care center is petitioning the City of Greenwood for approval to
tie into the same sewer that we are. It
is anticipated that we will both be approved at the same time.
- The
800mhz system was passed by the Council lastnight with a 7-0 vote. We need to determine which of the existing radios
that will be kept for mutual aid purposes w/Morgan County. Lt. Marsh will be in charge of tracking and distributing
the new radios.
- Chief
Dutton would like to remind everyone when you are dispatched on a mutual aid
run, use common sense regarding which trucks to respond (ie: Engine 52 should not be responding to Saddle Club Road
with Bargersville FD unless Engine 51 is out of service).
On those same notes, please do not divert from one run (ie: heart
attack) to go on another (ie: dumpster) unless the situation obviously calls
for it.
- We
now have a new medical director. Lt.
Alexander is meeting with him today (Tues) and should have more information
for us at tomorrow’s staff.
- Steve
Rowland has been given the responsibility of maintaining our gas detectors.
- We
are looking at installing a snow plow on the new grass rig. It was the general opinion that the hoses/pump should be
winterized, but leave water in the tank and the skid unit on the truck for
the needed weight. Chief Dutton
is also waiting on a completion date for the trench trailer and the EMS
trailer.
- Discussion
regarding the backing incident at station 52 which occurred 9/23.
The building has suffered extreme structural damage and we are
currently working on finding out what our options are to fix it.
It is the responsibility of the chauffeur and the officer when
backing an apparatus!
- Reviewed
list of those members who have not yet been cleared to chauffeur.
Chief Dutton will obtain a more definitive list from Lt. Thacker.
- Chief
Dutton has asked Mark Hart to submit the Thermal Imaging Camera SOG to Lt.
Thacker for his review. On A
shift, Lt. Alford is responsible for making sure the camera is on the
appropriate apparatus. On B and
C shift, the camera is on the Battalion.
- Chief
Dutton has asked Lt. Thacker and Chief Cassin to implement hiring process
guidelines for both the district and the vol. Corporation.
- Chief
Dutton has spoken with Representative Frizzell regarding the findings of the
White River Township Community Task Force.
After their findings are formally published, Chief Dutton and
Mr. Frizzell will approach Senator Borst for an increase in the
maximum tax levy for our district. If
successful, this will allow for substantial increases in manpower which is
very much needed with the upcoming opening of station 53.
- Lts.
Slauter and Marsh are still working on getting all of the masks tagged.
