Issue of
staffing discussed. The intent at
this time is to have a staffing situation of nine personnel beginning October 1.
Minimum staffing will be 7 personnel.
There will be no less than two personnel on the Tanker and no less than
four personnel on the truck. Chief
Dutton directed Chief Cassin to change his October, November, December budget to
reflect those positions.
7.
Potential
medics to fill upcoming shift positions include Abel, Cesnik, Hart, Schilling,
Borden, Martindale, Fletcher, Ebert, and Stevens (no fire training).
8.
Chief
Dutton gave an update on the status of PMT ambulance. After the Chiefs recent meeting with the owners, Jim
Murphy will be monitoring ambulance operations at White River, with Chief Dutton
overseeing scheduling and management issues.
A Shift Kirk & Jason
C Shift John & Mark
B Shift Wayne & Jory
D Shift Mike & Ron
(Wednesdays @ WRTFD, Sundays @ Indpls)
It
is believed that Murphy will be taking a current inventory, and will begin
replacing any items that we use on runs at one specified time each month.
Therefore, crews need to make sure
they restock their used supplies from the ambulance at the time of
the run.
9.
All
recent PMT issues will help us to readdress the need for our own ambulance
service at the FPDB meeting in September. That
meeting will be for us to re-educated the District Board members in many areas.
10.
Chief
Dutton, with everyones approval, directed Chief Pell to finish the MECA
project and for Lt. Tibbetts to finish the Aerial project.
11.
The next
reserve hiring process will begin in September.
12.
Scott
Alexander has suggested that the policy be revised on quarterly requirements.
After discussion, it was decided that all part time employees, including
reserves, will be required to obtain 72 hours in a 2 month period.
This will begin November 1. Reminder
letter will be sent at the end of each month.
13. Chief Dutton assigned Joel Thacker to do a survey of other area departments with our similar run load to see what they are paying their part time firefighters, and at what certification level. Once he has the information, he will direct his results to Chief Dutton to review our current pay scale.
