White River Township Fire Protection District

Pre-Meeting Report for January 2, 2007

Compiled December 31, 2006

  1. The Station 51 project continues to move along with no derailing issues to report.  The only significant issue currently is the weather.  It has been so wet that contractors cannot get in to dig the utilities.  It is not so much the excavation part as it is the compacting part when the dirt is moved.  They cannot get the compaction rates needed with the ground so wet.  This is therefore holding everything up a bit.  Hopefully drier weather will be moving in next week and the project can continue without a delay.  Otherwise, things are moving along with the installation of the interior walls under way and the application of drywall.  HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades are all now on site performing their installations.  Exterior siding and trim is also being installed.  One of the interior stairways is also now in place so access to the basement is now possible. Senefeld and Associates as well as the Kramer Corporation are both expected to be on hand at the meeting for a more detailed update.

  1. No update on the Bluff Road property project this month.  We’re still awaiting word that the Starbuck’s deal has officially closed.

  1. No update on the Station 53 sewer project as well.

  1. We will have the 2007 Salary Resolution available at the meeting for the Board’s signatures.

  1. The election of board officers for 2007 is slated to take place at the meeting.

  1. The Executive Session announcement to discuss the Chief and Deputy Chief evaluations has been posted as requested.

  1. That’s all for this month.  See you at the meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 6th, 2007.
