February 20, 2009

Highland Park Homeowner’s Association

Minutes of February 17, 2009 Board Meeting (2009-1)

Meeting Attendees

Jerry Day

Maggie Plummer

Fritz Wurster

The Meeting held at Fritz Wurster’s home started at 6:00 pm and adjourned at 7:40 pm.

Treasurer Duties

Fritz opened the meeting by announcing that he and Dennis O’Toole had spoken about Dennis continuing to keep the books for the Association for a monthly stipend without serving on the Board.  Dennis proposed a monthly fee of $250 plus expenses (stationery and postage).  All members agreed that this was agreeable in lieu of hiring a management company.

Front Landscaping

Jerry Day reported that he had spoken to Bill Dickie about the landscaping at the entrance.  Evergreen material had blown out of several of  the large planters.  Fritz Wurster had already called our landscape contractor, Brickman Landscape and asked them to clean up the planters.

Committees

Architectural Committee

Fritz is going to contact the previous committee members (John Price and LeAnn Ferry) to see if they will continue to serve with him on this committee.

Grounds Committee

Fritz Wurster will continue with the responsibilities of this committee with Jerry Day’s help.

Public Relations Committee

Maggie Plummer will take on the responsibilities of this committee.  Anne Ostergaard has offered help on newsletters.

Officers

Officers for the year are as follows:

Fritz Wurster-President

Jerry Day-Vice President

Maggie Plummer-Secretary

House at 2093 Eagle Trace Drive

This is the house that fell into severe disrepair while in foreclosure.  The house went through Sherriff’s Sale and was purchased by the first mortgage holder (Bank of New York-as trustee for Bear Stearns).  It appears repairs are going on inside the home.  The Board will monitor upkeep on the outside of the home.

Directories

Phone directories were distributed in 2007.  They were prepared by a company at no charge to the homeowners.  It is not clear whether there were any extra directories produced and who might have them. It would be nice to have these for new residents.  Jerry Day stated that not every resident at the time of distribution received a directory.  If anyone knows if there are additional directories and where they are, please let us know.
