Cruise 2008
This year's cruise was a two week adventure (at least for me). The first week was with some friends from work and the second week was with the family. The first week included stops at Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios. Everyone had a great time on the brand-new Carnival Freedom as we sailed out of Miami. The week's favorite was Grand Cayman where it was sunny and in the mid 80's. Although it was Eric, Amy, and Josh's second cruise, it was the first cruise for Eric and Amy's daughter, Haillie. It was also her first airline flight and one where we executed a missed approach into Atlanta! Additionally, because of the missed approach and a delay out of Indy, we ended up missing our connecting flight to Miami. The airline put us up for the night at a hotel and gave us some food vouchers and we ultimately ended up on a flight early the next morning. We made it to the ship with plenty of time.
After doing some laundry on the ship on the last day of the first week, I was packed up and ready to
go for another week. The family and I flew into Houston from different parts of country
and we all stayed at the Comfort Inn on Galveston Island. This
year included a total of fifteen of us, which made the trip
even more fun. We stopped at Cozumel, Roatan, and Progresso.
This was aboard the Voyager of the Seas, currently the third largest cruise ship
in the world! The weather was nearly perfect all week with warm days and
clear skies. And as usual, before the trip was done we were already talking about next year.....
