Johnson County Fair
This
was the fifth year in a row that we've started the Johnson County Fair with the
annual balloon race. The race is always on opening day and this year was
no exception. We unfortunately got side-tracked eating rice and
shish-kabob's and missed the actual start of the race! We were still able
to catch some balloons though. My cousin Sandy was in town and happened to
stop by with Dad so she got to see the fair as well. The fire department
had its new Strawberry Shortcake tent this year so I spent some time at the fair
almost every day during the week. One of the highlights of the week
however was a supercell thunderstorm that came through the fairgrounds injuring
several people and ripping down a lot of the tents and equipment. Photos
from the week follow.
