Now that's a deep hole

Since the weather was not so good around Las Vegas today, we thought we would take a drive out to Death Valley, California.  The drive took about three hours and other than mountains and valleys, there wasn't much to see along the way.  Once we got to the outer limits of Death Valley we stopped at Furnace Creek Ranch and had lunch.  By the way, the lunch was fantastic!  Worth going back again.  Our goal was to get to the Badwater Basin, which is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere at 282 feet below sea level.  They say that some people have trouble breathing here because the air is so dense, but we didn't really notice any difference.  The only noticeable difference was the air temperature which was about twenty degrees warmer than Las Vegas.
